I was at the 'Dollar General' store this morning and in their magazine /book rack was a brand new "Greatest Man" book ? I picked it up and looked it over and sure enough published by WTBTS .....no price tag affixed so I assume a Witness put it in there as a placement .... I took it to the check out clerk ,and told her "This is not a sale item , Jehovah's Witnesses publish this book and leave it with people free of charge " She just shrugged her shoulders and put it to the side .....

"Armageddon is Weeks Away" Phrase...Is WT pushing this phrase more recently?
by mentallyfree31 ini'm wondering if this phrase is perhaps being pushed recently in letters to the elders or circuit overseers.
i have heard it a time or two here in the last few days on the forum - specifically from a bethelite.. also, the last conversation i had with my presiding overseer about 5 weeks ago, he used this exaxt phrase: "i believe armageddon is only weeks away".. i know its been right around the corner for 130 years, but it seems this exact phrase seems to be floating around a lot lately.. what are your thoughts?
jw's usually don't think for themselves - they just repeat what those above them say.

Recently an Elder told to me something was 'New Light ' , and my comment was ,"when you say 'newlight' what you are really refering to is the 'latest opinion ' " . As the older GB members are dying off you will have the new opinions of the younger GB members becoming more out in the open ,and their opinion will be new light . To change a view on a doctrine 180 degrees is not seeing it more clearly it is re-inventing it into something entirely different .

Hummmm I love ........Cake ! I love wedding cake ,yeah that's the ticket . and I love .......ummmm chocolate covered strawberries ! really almost anything chocolate covered ........ LOVE my kids , my daughter in law and my Husband bunches
I love these silly little emicons ! Wish I had more of those little beauties ...... I love people that are genuinly happy (not all faking ) but really smily ,positvely happy .......I love people that don't correct my terrible spelling, and that listen to me when i complain ,and then hug me and say it's going to be okay .....
I love puppies and kittens and fuzzy ducks and chickens ...just as long as I don't have to clean up after them ....
I love my friends that like to act silly sometimes .....

Why should I have to sign a letter saying I want to disassociate ?
by troubled mind ini don't understand why the elders want this letter so badly ....for one i don't remember signing a contract to become a jehovah's witness ,why do i need to resign ?.
also i was baptised in 1978 before the baptism questions changed , i dedicated myself to god not an organization .
my vow was to follow the direction by holy spirit as revealed to me through the bible, not the watchtower ...... if i belonged to the luthern church and quit going after three yrs they drop your name off the member list ........but if i chose to come to easter or christmas service everyonre would still talk to me i just wouldn't be a member any more .. .

Jim you may have missed it but on page three of this thread I posted the certified letter of cease and desist harassment to the Elders per Police advice
. The Officer also has a copy of the cetified letter the Elders sent me inviting me to answer their questions at a Judicial Committee . The Officer told me yesterday he would be personally calling and explaining what NO CONTACT means to the Elder . I am confident the Elder will understand clearly by the time he is done with him .

VM : It has been a month of harassing and my health can't take it any more .
I sent the letter to stop them harassing me ,and the same day I recieved a certified letter from them inviting me to my very own JC . That was yesterday .
Today I went back to the police station so they could document this JC letter . The first officer I spoke to is on vacation so I had to go through the whole story again . This second Officer was really shocked how they are acting ...when I showed him the JC letter he just couldn't believe they hold a court setting . He asked me " Can I ask WHAT did you do? !" When I told him it was for putting up Winter decorations in December, and for having anti-witness videos on my youtube account . " He was like, 'You have got to be kidding me "
He made a copy of the letter then copied the Elders phone number on the letter , and told me HE was going to call this guy and make sure he understands what NO contact means ....
The Witnesses are mudding their good name in my town ,because every person I work with or have dealings with is hearing this story, and in a small town Gossip travels fast .....
Once I talk to the old guys that have coffee in the mornings down at the Donut shop my job will be done !
